SALT LAKE CITY
LANDSCAPE.

Rock walls, sod, plants, trees, fences, sprinklers, lighting — every part of an SLC yard, installed by one Peak crew.

Salt Lake City's Trusted Landscape Installer

TWO DECADES OF YARDS
IN SALT LAKE CITY.

Peak Landscaper has been installing residential landscapes across the Salt Lake Valley since 2006. From compact entry beds in the Avenues to full backyard transformations in Sugar House, Holladay, Millcreek, and Cottonwood Heights — we know the soil, the codes, and the deer.

SLC isn't a single jobsite. The bench has expansive clay; the valley floor has variable fill; the foothills have aggressive deer pressure. Our plant palettes and base prep change for every neighborhood.

Salt Lake City-Specific

WHAT MAKES BUILDING IN SALT LAKE CITY DIFFERENT.

  • 01
    Expansive bench soils
Clay-heavy soils east of 1300 East need amendment for plant survival. We strip and amend.
  • 02
    Deer pressure on benches
East-bench yards see deer year-round. We use deer-resistant plant palettes — no deer-candy hostas in front yards.
  • 03
    SLC water rules
Stage 2 watering restrictions are common. We install drought-smart palettes and smart controllers as standard.
  • 04
    Historic district overlays
Avenues and Capitol Hill require Historic Landmark Commission review on visible front-yard work.

Salt Lake City Landscape FAQ

SALT LAKE CITY LANDSCAPE QUESTIONS.

How long does a full SLC yard install take?

Mid-size yards: 2-4 weeks. Large estate properties: 4-8 weeks. We schedule April through October.

Do I need a permit for landscape work?

Most landscaping doesn't require permits. Retaining walls over 4 feet, fences over 6 feet, and front-yard work in historic districts may. We handle them.

Best plants for the Avenues' clay soil?

Amended palettes — peony, daylily, viburnum, lilac. Full clay-amendment is part of our install.

Will my Avenues HOA approve a new design?

Most yes — we prep submittal packages for any HOA that requires review.

Can you handle the slope on Cottonwood Heights / east bench?

Yes — most east-bench installs include rock walls or terraced beds. We engineer accordingly.

How early to book for a spring SLC install?

Spring (April-June) typically books out by late February. Get on the schedule by November the year prior.
